As the organisation modernises its operations and adopts a product-led technology approach, the business is increasing its reliance on SaaS platforms, ERP systems, and cloud solutions to drive efficiency, improve operational workflows, and enhance customer experiences.

The Test Lead role is a critical first hire for the testing function, providing the foundation for robust QA practices across the organisation’s technology landscape.

The Test Lead will be responsible for establishing and delivering the testing strategy and framework for the business, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance across all technology systems.

This includes leading both manual and automated testing efforts, focusing on SaaS platforms, ERP systems, and other off-the-shelf applications.

The successful candidate will define testing standards, introduce best practices, and mentor future QA talent, shaping a high-performing QA function from the ground up.

Testing Leadership & Strategy

  • Establish and own the testing strategy, frameworks, and processes across the business.
  • Lead both manual and automation testing efforts, ensuring all releases meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for SaaS and ERP applications.
  • Introduce best practices, standards, and metrics to measure and improve quality.

Test Execution & Automation

  • Execute and coordinate manual testing for functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and tools.
  • Monitor and report on test progress, coverage, and quality metrics.
  • Identify and manage defects, risks, and dependencies in collaboration with technical and business teams.
  • Work closely with Product Owner, and the  IT teams to understand requirements and ensure testing aligns with business needs.
  • Provide feedback and guidance on product quality and system usability.
  • Support teams in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) coordination and business validation.

Process Improvement & Mentorship

  • Introduce QA best practices, process improvements, and test automation frameworks.
  • Coach and mentor any future QA team members, helping to build a high-performing QA function.
  • Advocate for quality and risk management throughout the software development lifecycle.

4. Technology Environment

The Test Lead will work across off-the-shelf SaaS and ERP applications, including:

  • ERP Platforms: Infor ERP
  • SaaS Applications: Microsoft 365 and other business SaaS platforms
  • Data Platforms: Snowflake or similar cloud data solutions
  • Infrastructure & Integration: Windows, VMware, networking, SD-WAN, and cloud environments

Essential Experience

Proven experience as a Test Lead, QA Lead, or Senior QA Testing Tools & Automation: Open to the candidate’s preferred tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, UFT, or similar), with experience integrating automated tests into Agile delivery pipelines.

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience in writing test plans, test cases, and reporting defects.
  • Ability to lead and mentor future QA team members.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
